Desert Reflections: Take My Yoke Upon You

Gamaliel offers sound advice to the Sanhedrin in today’s first reading: God’s love, compassion, will and healing in Jesus Christ cannot be defeated. Fr Greg points out that our job, as followers of Jesus, is to discover God’s will in our lives and to “yoke” ourselves to it even as it takes us to unfamiliar places.

Today’s Readings

[Gamaliel advised the Sanhedrin:] “I tell you, have nothing to do with these [followers of Jesus], and let them go. For if this endeavor or this activity is of human origin, it will destroy itself. But if it comes from God, you will not be able to destroy them; you may even find yourselves fighting against God.”
ACTS 5:34-42

Jesus said, “Have the people recline…”  Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were reclining, and also as much of the fish as they wanted.
