Desert Reflections: Everyone has bad days

Fr Charlie notes that sometimes we just have bad days. But, like the trials Paul faced bringing the good news to the Corinthians, and the woman giving birth in today’s readings, bad days can sometimes lead to wonderful things – if we remain open to the possibilities.

Today’s Readings

The Jews [in Corinth] rose up together against Paul and brought him to the tribunal, saying, “This man is inducing people to worship God contrary to the law.”
ACTS 18:9-18

You will grieve, but your grief will become joy [as] when a woman is in labor … no longer remembers the pain because of her joy that a child has been born into the world.
JN 16:20-23
