Desert Reflections: Choosing

Jesus chooses us – his friends – to bring his love to all in today’s gospel.   Sometimes that can be a challenge, as Fr Paul and his fellow passengers discovered when their flight from Chicago to Tucson boarded yesterday.  But, by embracing the opportunities to love which God presents to us each day, we too get to choose – even if it means welcoming a fidgeting baby.

Today’s Readings

‘It is the decision of the Holy Spirit and of us not to place on you any burden.”
ACTS 15:22-31

“It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another.”
JN 15:12-17
